Name : An Empirical Study on Factors Affecting Satisfaction of Employees and Their Impact on The Organisation with Special Reference to Education Sector
Author : Dr. Manish Madan ,Dr. Nidhi Gupta
Abstract :
Purpose: Everyone from managers, retention agents to HR need to get a handle on employee loyalty and satisfaction – how engaged is the workforce to the organization and are workers really contented with the way of things for gauging their choice to stay with the company. Measurement of employee satisfaction and their commitment towards their organization are the main aspects of Human Resource Management. Companies have to make sure that employee satisfaction is high among the workers, which is a precondition for increasing productivity, responsiveness, quality and overall customer service. The litmus test can be conducted to study absenteeism, turnover and average length of service. If turnover is on the rise, loyalty levels are low and vice versa. Comparing them to industry averages gives good idea of attrition probabilities. Staff attendance, compliance with policies and confidence in leadership are other indirect indicators of adherence while excessive theft and disruption spell obvious lack of commitment.
Design/Methodology/Approach: Descriptive research has been applied, describes data and characteristics about the population or phenomenon being studied. The researchers have used primary data through self-constructed structured Questionnaire and as far as the secondary data is concerned that was obtained from web sites, journals etc.Structured questionnaire was constructed to interview the employees of various Educational Institutions on 23 different parameters on Likert's five point scale, which was later reduced to 5 factors by using the statistical technique of factor analysis. Findings:It is found that the employees working in the Educational Institutions are satisfied in terms of Authority and work culture, Relationship with Peers, Salary and Career Advancement, Involvement and Training and Rotation of job.
Research Limitations/Implications: The study focuses on general problems faced by employees in the Educational institution. There might be certain more variables as one employee is satisfied on particular aspect but another may not on the same aspect.

Name : A Study on Talent Retention Practices: Fostering Employee Retention
Author : Dr. Yogita Mandhanya
Abstract :
How to retain employees is one of the biggest problem that plague companies in the competitive marketplace. Not too long ago, companies accepted the "revolving door policy" as part of doing business and were quick to fill a vacant job with another eager candidate. Nowadays, businesses often find that they spend considerable time, effort, and money to train an employee only to have them develop into a valuable commodity and leave the company for greener pastures. Fast moving markets require fast-moving organizations that are continually refreshed with new talent. But no one likes to see talent leave; when a good employee walks, the business takes a hit. The solution is attractive, effective, compatible talent retention practices. The study was conducted primarily to evaluate the current human resource retention practices of companies in automobile sector. The research identified the core elements of human resource practices, which strongly influence the decision of employees to retain in the organization. The results indicate recruitment and selection, training and development, compensation packages, working environment, recognition and rewards and leadership are significantly related with employee retention policies practiced by the organization.

Name : Corporate Social Responsibility in India: Revisiting Carroll's Pyramid and The Road Ahead
Author : Ritika Mahajan
Abstract :
Section 135 of the recently implemented Indian Companies Act, 2013 made Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) mandatory for a certain category of companies in India but a debate on pros and cons of mandatory CSR is still going on. Significant issues in this debate are definition, scope and legitimacy of CSR. The existing definitions of CSR in the literature are congruent to a large extent but there is no universally acceptable definition. This paper attempts to present a conceptual view of CSR in India by tracing its evolution and examining different responsibilities, economic, legal, ethical and philanthropic associated with it, as proposed by Carroll (1991). The paper builds up arguments based on literature, supported by observation and experience of the author and culminates by interpreting CSR as “the commitment of business to abide by law and to operate in an ethical manner when it has the opportunity to do otherwise, with identification and exploitation of business opportunities which generate mutual benefits for business and society.” The paper further proposes three pillars of CSR for a sustainable business and society
