Author | : | Bashir Ahmad Joo, KokabDurri |
Abstract | : |
Psychological traits of an individual have substantial impact on their investment
decisions had it being stock market investment decision or other investment decisions.
The researchers on the subject of behavioral finance have shown that number of such
inherent psychological traits do have power to influence the investment decisions
of individual investors. From the perusal of review of previous literature, few
biases seems to have good influence on the rationality of investors, however, very
less number of studies have focused on pessimism and mixture of overconfidence and
optimize biases. It is against this backdrop that in present study a modest attempt
has been made to analyze how these psychological traits deviates the individual
investors from their rational behavior. In order to study the same primary data
was collected through a well-structured questionnaire and in order to test the formulated
hypotheses T-test and F-test were applied. Further, to evaluate the impact of these
biases on individual investors' rationality regression analysis was used. Psychological

it to the employees of SBI and determining alpha cronbach the value of emotional
intelligence questionnaire was calculated is 0.964 and of organizational citizenship
behavior is 0.958 . Results of Pearson correlation test show that there is positive
significant relationship between variables of emotional intelligence and organizational
citizenship behavior of employees. Finally regression equation of this research
is: Organisational Citizenship Behaviour = 1.037+ (0.749 * Emotional Intelligence).This

Name | : | SRI Investment & Screening Performance: An Empirical Study |
Author | : | Dr. Subrata Roy |
Abstract | : |
The investors generally consider different screens before going to socially responsible
investment. The present study seeks to examine the performance of socially responsible
investment based on some screening policies. The question here is that whether such
screens (ESG) really improve investment performance. To examine this issue the study
uses a simple trading strategy based on socially responsible ratings which are obtained
from KLD Research & Analytics: buy stocks with higher socially responsible ratings
and sell stocks with lower socially responsible ratings (similar to the strategy
of markettiming: switch over to the high beta portfolio when market is up and vice
versa). The study reports that the trading strategy helps to increase abnormal returns.
In addition, when the investors apply the best-inclass screening policy, the abnormal
return is found to be lucrative. Keywords: SRI, Four-Factor-Model, Screening policy,

Author | : | Chandavadan Goritiyal,Dr. Rajesh Devasia |
Abstract | : |
Behavioral finance is a new approach to financial markets that has emerged in response
to the difficulties faced by the traditional investors. In broad terms, it argues
that some financial phenomena can be better understood using models in which some
agents are not fully rational. More specifically, it analyzes what happens when
we relax one, or both, of the two concepts that underlie individual rationality.
In some behavioral finance models, agents fail to update their beliefs correctly.
In other models, agents make choices that are normatively questionable. It gives
a glimpse to behavioral finance, describes the background, aim and objectives of
the paper. It begins with a description of standard as well as behavioral finance,
which often contradicts the modern financial theories. Keywords: Financial Theory,

Author | : | Dr Somesh Dhamija, Dr Aruna Dhamija, Mr. Krishanveer Singh |
Abstract | : |
As cost pressures keep increasing, companies are being increasingly looking for
innovative human resource management initiatives. In this paper, a three-pronged
approach is presented that can make human resources far more productive. Firstly,
hiring should be more objective than it has been (a system of tryout is suggested
before actual hiring). Secondly, for best productivity, work force should be committed
and motivated. Thirdly, several ways and means applicable to today's work environment
are suggested to retain good employees especially the top performers, specifically
the female employees. These include: pay above and beyond the minimum legal requirement,
due emphasis on employee emotions, liberal policy on workfrom- home, output-linked
attendance, training and mentoring, better connect with employees' families, allow
mini-breaks, egg-freezing perks for female employees, performance appraisal, and
a new-look retirement policy. Overall, this paper would be helpful in developing
a better perspective in this regard.
