Name | : | An Empirical Study on Teachers' Perceptions towards Inclusive Education |
Author | : | Sandeep Chaudhary |
Abstract | : |
During the past two decades, the inclusion movements have made significant
progress in (a) supporting the rights of children to have their special
educational needs identified and met through education legislation and the right
of individuals with disabilities to equal opportunities, (b) minimizing
unjustified discrimination, and (c) developing support facilities and services
for individuals with special needs (Disability Rights Task Force Final Report,
2004; Ministry of Education, 2004). Despite the apparent benefits of inclusion,
and regardless of the teachers' commitment and positive attitudes; and
notwithstanding their having the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the
educational needs of diverse students with disabilities, teachers were concerned
about the academic, social, and behavioral adjustment of the students with
disabilities. The main characteristic of inclusive education is the teachers'
willingness to accept students with special needs. Their attitudes and knowledge
about inclusive education are important as these are indicators of such
willingness. The purpose of this study was to examine teachers' attitudes and
their perceived knowledge towards inclusive education in Punjab. The respondents
(n=50) were the mainstream and special education teachers in the public primary
and secondary schools. They were given a set of questionnaire which sought their
responses regarding their attitudes and knowledge towards inclusive education.
The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics such as mean and standard
deviation. The statistical tool used for the analysis was Factor analysis. The
main finding shows that, in general, teachers have positive attitudes towards

Name | : | India Exports to LAC: An Analysis of Economic and Export History of India for doing Business with Bolivia |
Author | : | Dr. Jayant Sonwalkar,Neha Soni Kumar |
Abstract | : | The study present export performance of India for doing business with Bolivia. Bolivia is a country in central South America, with a varied terrain spanning Andes Mountains, the Atacama Desert and Amazon Basin rainforest. The country's population, estimated at 10 million, is multiethnic, including Amerindians, Mestizos, Europeans, Asians and Africans. Economic growth in Bolivia averaged 4.9% between 2004 and 2014. In this context, despite the significant expansion of public investment, the country has maintained current account and fiscal surpluses that have enabled it to accumulate important macroeconomic cushions. Oil prices have a delayed effect on natural gas export prices, for which reason Bolivia has only partially felt the decrease in commodity prices. Although growth remains strong as compared with other countries of the region, an economic deceleration has been observed throughout the year. Bolivia has many regional trade events that could be used to promote products or to test market interest. Imports in Bolivia are expected to be 702.12 USD Million by the end of this quarter, according to Trading Economics global macro models and analysts expectations. |

Abstract | : | Poverty is a barrier to a noble life. Self-employment is an important step to have constant incomes and remove the fetters of poverty. The word poverty is used in two senses, as a broad blanket word describe the whole range of deprivation and ill-being and in narrow sense, for purposes of measurement and comparison where it is defined as lowincome or more particularly, as low consumption which is considered more stable and easier to measure. It means not having enough to feed and clothe a family, not having a school or clinic to go to; not having the land on which to grow one's food or a job to earn one's living, not having access to credit. Name | : | Study on Credit Card Usage Behaviour in Mumbai |
Author | : | Puneet Singh,Geetha Iyer |
Abstract | : | The study investigates credit card ownership and usage in Indian metro cities, taking Mumbai into consideration, and their posited association with consumer demographics. In this study, we find that credit card usage behaviour in Mumbai is relatively high and that this appears to be influenced by consumer demographics and in particular income, age, gender and income as well as number of credit cards owned per person, i.e., ownership pattern. The growing popularity and ownership of credit cards in the western belt of India makes it relevant for such a research to be conducted taking a sample representative of the population of Mumbai. This will aid in interpreting the manner in which demographics influence the usage pattern. The study shows that the results obtained are inconsistent with the previous studies, where the usage was expected to increase with age and income, and males were expected to use credit cards more frequently. The study recommends segmenting the market in Mumbai based on consumer demographics. Keywords: Consumer Behaviour, Credit Cards, Mumbai. |

Name | : | Equity Risk Premium: A Cross Country Analysis on Return Behaviour |
Author | : | Trishika Kumari,Santhosh Kumar |
Abstract | : |
The equity risk premium has been of paramount importance in the field of finance
and is still a widely utilised central element for every risk return model in
corporate finance, asset pricing and other fields of economic literature. This
research captures the differences in the expost behaviour of equity risk premium
between developed and emerging markets .Further, an investigation has been made
into the impact of global integration on the ERP across G7 countries and 7
emerging countries. .The analysis has shown a decline in the ERP of developed
nations and an upward trend in emerging markets over the chosen sub-sample
period. We found out that there exists low correlation in ERP of emerging
markets in comparison with developed markets. Therefore the findings suggest
that a rational investor, having declining absolute risk aversion, can reduce
his portfolio risk by diversifying his investment across emerging markets. Key

Name | : | Impact of Outward FDI on Macroeconomic Variables of Home-Country (INDIA) |
Author | : | Shraddha Mishra, Prof. Raj Kumar |
Abstract | : |
For attainment of the new technological skills, managerial expertise, and
innovative strategies, the outward foreign direct investment (OFDI) is the need
of the Indian market. We yearned to know the overall scene of Indian OFDI and
its impact on macro-economic factors. The data used in the current study
consists of multiple time series for the period 1990 to 2014 for India, the
choice of period is determined by the availability of data over the time. The
study drew data from international sources such as UNCTAD and World Bank. Given
the existence of multiple variables, we have employed Sims (1980), VAR
methodology. “The main difference in the VAR approach is that it is built on
creating a complete dynamic specification of the series in a system of
equations.” (Brandt and Williams,2007). The liberalization of medical services,
defence and education sectors are prompting Indian firms to explore overseas
merger and acquisitions to build both domestic power and global presence.
Natural resource sectors and its foreign investments will surge in future.
Indian Multi National Enterprises (MNEs) will continue to invest in developed
nations, particularly now because they are affordable to invest after the global
crisis. Three imperative regulatory developments have underpinned India as a
large global outward investor. Keywords: Outward foreign direct investment, VAR
methodology, Indian Multi National Enterprises, Macroeconomic Variables.

Name | : | Selecting an Optimal Portfolio for Investment in Stocks in India: A Sectoral Approach |
Author | : | Dr Kavitha Lal,Dr S.R. Subba Rao |
Abstract | : |
Investment in stocks may be made individually or through portfolio managers.
This study attempts at selecting an optimal portfolio for investment in Indian
equity stocks belonging to specific economic sectors. After reviewing the
relevant literature, the objectives and research methodology of the study have
been spelt out. This is followed by a coverage of the concepts and definitions
which are relevant for this study. A comparison of the different approaches to
select an optimum portfolio has been made to get an overview of the relative
measures. In this paper, an optimum portfolio of economic sectors in India, in
which the investments could be made, has been constructed, using Sharpe's index
model and Treynor's index as appropriate. The choice of individual stocks within
each the selected sectors could be done by the individuals or portfolio managers
based on any subsequent analysis which generally aims at accrual of higher
returns, given a risk level. For the study, the CNX Nifty and the indices for
the individual sectors numbering eleven, of the National Stock Exchange of
India, have been considered. The data comprise daily indices for the period 1st
April 2014 to 31st March 2015, as short run phenomenon in stock movements are
equally important as the long run trends for investment in stocks. The CNX Nifty
has been taken as the market performance index. The optimal portfolio has been
constructed comprising the economic sectors, identified on the basis of a unique
cut-off value in terms of returns. Valid statistical and analytical techniques
have been used in arriving at the conclusions. The study being empirical in
nature with the latest data on the subject selected is considered to add to the
existing literature on the theme of the paper. It has practical value as the
methodology used and calculations made are replicable for constructing an
optimum portfolio of sectors for investment in the related equity stocks
