Name : “EOQ Model with Constant Deterioration Rate and Time Dependent Demand and IHC”
Author : Prof. Parmar Kirtan ,Dr. U. B. Gothi
Abstract :
In this paper, we have analysed a deterministic inventory model for deteriorating items with time-dependent quadratic demand and holding cost is time-dependent. An Exponential distribution is used to represent the distribution of time to deterioration. In the model considered here, shortages are allowed and partially backlogged. The backlogging rate is assumed to be dependent on the length of waiting for the next replenishment. The longer the waiting time is, the smaller the backlogging rate would be. The model is solved analytically to obtain the optimal solution of the problem. The derived model is illustrated by a numerical example and its sensitivity analysis is carried out.

Abstract :
About 40 million consumers purchased products and services online this year and with better infrastructure in terms of logistics, broadband and internet-ready devices, the number is expected to grow to 65 million by the end of 2015. Improved accessibility to the internet and world wide web have made it easier and cheaper for businesses and consumers to interact and conduct commercial transactions electronically as compared the traditional approach of visiting retail stores. Primary data has been collected from respondents engaging in online purchases on 31 parameters which were then reduced to a fewer number of factors through factor analysis. This research offers insights into the linkage between e-shopping and customers' decisions to shop or not shop online. This information can help online marketers and retailers develop appropriate market strategies, design and implement technological initiatives and take the right decisions to retain current customers and attract new customers. If online marketers and retailers can better understand their customers, they can improve their product and service offerings and strengthen their competitive advantage. Abstract :
Despite a wide range of reform initiatives in agricultural extension in India from last decades, the coverage, access, and quality of information provided to marginalized and poor farmers is uneven. This paper aims to ascertain why farmers are not accessing information in general or about schemes and where information gaps exist, for effective and efficient marketing (selling and channel selection). Using information provision and awareness as the basis for analysis, the paper reviews some of the major agricultural extension programs in Kashmir by considering their ability to provide information and facilitate information sharing for availing schemes. Further the study evaluates the awareness of central and state schemes and frequency of participation by growers. The study uses both primary and secondary data for frequency and percentage analysis. Hence from results of this analysis, opportunities are identified for increasing extension services' awareness in reaching smallholder farmers for the utilization of various schemes. The findings highlighted the role of various unsorted marketing activities that should be taken in to consideration and explores the use, access and awareness of various schemes and programmes. Name : Developing HR as a Core Competency: An Approach for Gaining Competitive Advantage
Author : Shravani Sharma, Shravani Sharma, Dr. Jyoti Sharma
Abstract :
Environmental changes are remodelling the approach with which organizations create value and conduct business. These changes have initialised the urgency of creating a scenario where the organizations will be in a position to create and sustain difference in their capabilities and functions over and above their competitors. Consequence of this ongoing challenge is particularly compelling HR function to step up their capabilities for adding value so that the only non-imitable resource of the organizations, namely, capabilities of employees can be identified and utilized as a source of differentiator. Though till now the process of inculcating a set of competencies by HR function has been initialized but has not been fully implemented due to lack of awareness on the part of the organisation about the benefits derived from such competencies. This necessitates the need for identification of the set of competencies required for HR function and inducting them into the practices and policies of HR. The present study, therefore, is an attempt to explore different kinds of competencies which will craft HR not only as a source of competitive advantage for the organizations but also as a core competent component of the organization. The study also suggests that HR should take a leading role in implementing competencies suitable for the business to attain its ultimate objectives.
