Abstract | : |
The present paper is an endeavor to highlight the impacts of current
account and capital account on CNX Nifty and BSE 100. The study is
purely based on secondary data. The analysis of which was made
through the application of Karl Pearson's coefficient of Correlation
and Multiple Regression. The study found that the current account
(CAD) is the most important predictor of CNX Nifty with R square
values of .596 and the impact of capital account is more important in
case of BSE 100 with R square values of .699. Though, the current
account is a significant factor for all outcome variables yet its impact
on CNX Nifty has been greater than other outcomes; and the aggregate
impact of all the predictors jointly showed more impact on CNX Nifty
(R2change= 69.5 per cent)than other outcome variables. It was further
indicated through the results that if all the two selected independent
factors remain constant, then also there are other factors as well which
explain CNX Nifty and BSE 100 up to 1649.480 and 2336.893 units.

Gujarat Fluorochemicals and Rana Sugar ltd. are excluded from the sample average comes 0.776%. In order to examine the hypotheses Chi- Square test and ANOVA statistical techniques have been used. The first hypothesis is accepted while second hypothesis is rejected. It reveals that there is no significant difference among different sample companies regarding generation of revenue from carbon credit trading but there is significant difference among the average value of revenue earned from carbon credit transactions of different years of sample units. |

Name | : | Impact of Exports and Imports on Growth Rate of India: An Empirical Enquiry |
Author | : | Dr. Sushil Kumar Rai, Ms. Purvashree Jhala |
Abstract | : |
The present paper is an attempt to find out the dependence of growth
rate on the exports and imports during the entire reform period. The
processes of reforms were introduced by the Government of India in
July 1991 and the subsequent extensions of these reforms were carried
out in later years. The period after 1991 has been marked by a
substantial transformation in trade policy and the policy of trade is
tilted towards export promotion and import substitution/restriction to
achieve higher growth rate as one of the objectives of existing trade
policy. Therefore, through the present endeavour, we try to establish a
causal relationship among these variables vis-à-vis growth rate,
exports and imports. In this paper, the results reveal that there is a
positive relationship between growth rate and exports. The number of
independent variables is not exhaustive, leaving an opportunity for
further exploring the effect of various other macroeconomic variables
on the growth rate of India.

Name | : | Explaining Performance of Actively Managed Indian Mutual Funds |
Author | : | Navdeep Aggarwal, Mohit Gupta |
Abstract | : |
The present study sought to explain the returns generated by the mutual
funds operating in India. Using quarterly returns generated by all
equity funds excluding sectoral, closed-ended, index tracking and
discontinued fund schemes during the period of January 2010 to
December 2014, analysis was carried out with the help of Capital Asset
Pricing Model (CAPM), Fama-French (1993) three factor model and
Carhart (1997) four factor model. The CAPM, which considers only
the broad market movements as the determinant of asset returns,
suggested that fund managers were significantly adding value in terms
of returns generation through stock selection, market timing etc.
However, Fama-French model and the Carhart model show an entirely
different scenario. Both models suggest that fund managers did not add
any value to the fund returns. Whatever was the return generated by the
funds, was due to the risk factors considered in the models. The
findings of the study are eye opening. They raise significant questions
against the huge fees and commissions pocketed by the fund houses
when they were not adding any significant value to the return
generation.

Name | : | Mergers and Acquisitions in Entrepreneurship for Gaining Strategic and Competitive Advancements |
Author | : | Dr. Manpreet Arora |
Abstract | : |
The entrepreneurial development in any economy is the key to economic development. In any type of entrepreneurial venture
to derive competitive advantage, one basically needs to be creative and innovative, so as to reduce the cost of production, or
maintain quality, introduce differentiation, enhance customer benefits and to gain ultimately a considerable market share.
Gaining competitive advantage in any market is the key to sustain and to earn profits, thereby satisfying the shareholders by
paying them higher dividends. Therefore risk taking is an in burst imperative for an entrepreneur, because one cannot expect
to gain something in the future without taking the risk of facing uncertainties and imponderables. In this era of advancements
where the organisations are striving hard for going global and cross their nation's borders in a short span of time Mergers and
Acquisitions/Takeovers/Strategic alliances/Joint Ventures has become an inevitable choice. A critical question for any
entrepreneurial venture is to sustain and knock down the competition and that is why the most stated justification for doing
M&A's is diversification. Complementing the goal of diversification; the other sensible motives for deals are economies of
scale, economies of vertical integration, risk reduction, complementary resources, unused tax shields, surplus funds and
eliminating inefficiencies. All these synergies in one way or another are becoming the objective for any entrepreneurial
activity from an economic perspective. These are the trade off's that can make M&A as a good option in an enterprise to gain
strategic advancement. As a researcher it becomes imperative to critically analyse this innovative trend of gaining
advancements adopted by enterprises. This paper attempts to build a strong theoretical background that's why there is a need
of adopting the strategy of M & A's as a tool of gaining strategic advancements for enterprises. It also attempts to propose a
model which small and medium scale enterprises could adopt for growth and diversification.
