Name : A Study of factors influencing quality of work life of employees of art metal ware handicraft sector of India
Author : Vaishali Dhingra, Prof Ajay K Garg
 Abstract :
“Whenever failure comes, if we analyse it critically, in 99% of cases, we shall find that it was because we did not pay attention to the means. Proper attention to the finishing, strengthening of means is what we need. With the means alright, the end must come.” -Swami Vivekananda
The above saying forms the basis of this study. It implies that if the means adopted for any purpose are correct, the end result is bound to be good. Thus, if the QWL measures adopted by any work organization are appropriate and are implemented in true spirit, employees’ perception towards that organization is likely to be positive. There are several factors which influence the quality of work life of employees. These factors may be related to work life or even personal life of the employees but nonetheless they have a bearing upon the organizational performance.

Name : A STUDY OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION QUALITY WITH FOCUS ON THE FOUR YEAR ENGINEERING COURSE WITH THE OBJECTIVE OF IDENTIFYING AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT
Author : Jitendra Shreemali ,Dr.Sudha Bhatnagar ,Jitendra Shreemali ,Dr.Sudha Bhatnagar
 Abstract :
Higher education in India has grown enormously, both, in terms of number of institutions and students. This growth has been particularly more rapid in this century compared to the previous fifty years since independence. This growth is also accompanied by an unprecedented growth in number of private institutions in higher education. Questions about the quality of various higher education institutions in India have cropped up and this study attempts to answer one of those questions: Are students undergoing higher education in the technical field of engineering satisfied with the degree programmes they are undergoing and its different aspects. Only final year students of the four year degree engineering programme were selected for this study as they have had the best exposure (among all students) to the entire programme. A standard tool of student feedback was selected for collecting data using convenience sampling and the data statistically analyzed for a level of significance of 5% (α = 0.05).Respondents were assured of confidentiality of their identity and that of their institution. The sample size was 41. The study used a rather modest criteria of majority of students agreeing or strongly agreeing on the characteristic/feature of the four year degree course. The study establishes that even with this modest standard majority of the students were not happy with (a) Instructor Enthusiasm during Degree Programme; (b) Group interaction and exchange of ideas/knowledge; and (c) Breadth of Degree Programme. A higher standard requiring that 75% of the students give a rating of ‘Agree’ or ‘Strongly Agree’ would have led to the research concluding that, on none of the characteristic feature of the questionnaire, did the degree programme meet set standards. This presents a rather bleak picture of the quality of technical education in question.

The study has been conducted for the seven year period of 1st January 2005 to 31st December 2012 while the estimation window period is taken as 10 days before and after announcement of bonus issue. Results reveal that companies earn positive abnormal returns before bonus announcement and negative abnormal returns after bonus announcement in short period.
