Name : Investigating the correlation between Emotional Intelligence and Academic Performance

Abstract :
Although there are several evidences correlating emotional intelligence and academic performance, the study investigates a new outlook in finding the correlation between emotional intelligence and academic performance of management students. The standard scores obtained by students at four overbearing term examinations considered as Academic Performance Index(API) and compared with their emotional intelligence quotient.It was found that there is no direct correlation between the overall emotional intelligence as well as the threesubscales of emotional intelligence with the academic performance. However,we found a significant correlation between academic score and emotional intelligence in females.

A significant amount of national human resource, taxpayers’ money, time and infra-structure are utilised in the painstaking procedures of recruitment, training, and operations involving personnel, to churn them into a professional force. These veterans constitute a readily available, well-trained, disciplined, experienced, and versatile team of human re-source that can be harnessed towards a constructive role in nation building.

: The researcher attempted to analyse how FDI, export, external debt contribute to the economic growth of India. The author has developed various econometrics models to assess the relationship of the studied variables. The unit root tests, cointegration model and VECM revealed the short run and long run relationship of the studied variables. The study employed VECM to study the long run, short run and joint effect of the studied variables. The results showed significant effect from FDI, exports and external debt to economic growth. The Wald test result shows the short run relationship in export to economic growth and external debt to economic growth except FDI.
